In a video clip, the Metrowealth Pictures CEO is seen having tea with a group of youngsters, in what is believed to be the company’s office, and is asked by one of them what the rest of the pantun was.
Teo had only managed to recite the first line: “Sekali ombak sampai ke pantai …” (“Once the waves reach the shore …”).
In the video, Teo pauses and then says he was shocked when the incident happened that evening.
He then dramatically concludes the pantun with the rhyming line: “PM jemput saya datang bersantai” (“the prime minister invited me to come and relax”).
“So that was why I was relaxing and got walloped,” he added to laughter from the others in the clip on the YouTube account of Metrowealth Pictures.
The incident had taken place on May 17 at the Transformasi Nasional 2050 (TN50) dialogue with those in the entertainment industry in Putrajaya.
Teo took the microphone to criticise the session’s moderator, Rosyam Nor, for allegedly overlooking those seated at the back when it came to taking questions or suggestions.
Sulaiman, popularly known as Mat Over, quickly walked up to him and slapped him, claiming Teo was showing disrespect to Prime Minister Najib Razak, who was present at the dialogue.
Security officials quickly escorted both men from the venue, a hall at Seri Perdana.
Teo today told FMT that he was prepared to give any information needed to the police over the scuffle.
He said he had not received any call or notice from the police, but gave an assurance that he would cooperate fully in any investigations.
“I am ready to give my full cooperation to the police.”
According to Sin Chew Daily, Kuala Lumpur police criminal investigation department chief Rusdi Mohd Isa said Sulaiman and Teo would be called in today. He added that neither men had reported to the police since the incident took place.
Teo declined to specify what information he would give to the police.
“The answers to be given to the police are confidential. I am sorry but I am not able to tell.”
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
Several parties have called on the police to take criminal action against Sulaiman, who has reportedly said he did not regret what he did.
