Uber driver who robbed pregnant woman nabbed
Police are scrutinising closed-circuit television camera footage retrieved from a petrol station to identify the second suspect who is still at large.
PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a Uber driver, who with his accomplice, allegedly robbed a pregnant woman passenger during a ride on Sunday.
Serdang district police chief Superintendent Lee Wai Leong said the 22-year-old man was arrested at the Pagoh north-bound rest and service area at 11pm on Wednesday, The Star reported today.
Lee said the suspect, from Kulim, Kedah, had a criminal record and was remanded for seven days until May 31 under Section 117 for abetting.
He said police were scrutinising closed-circuit television camera footage retrieved from a petrol station to identify the second suspect who was still at large.
Police also seized a black Proton Saga believed to have been used in the incident.
It was reported that the passenger, Wong Mei Yan, 26, was robbed during her ride from Mid Valley to Puchong on Sunday.
The victim said that when the vehicle she was in neared the One Puchong Business Centre, the front passenger turned around brandishing a knife and told her to hand over all her valuables.

Wong was later dropped off near Koi Kinrara, about 5km away.
