
The couple, who were said to have committed the offence in Subang Jaya, are now under investigation for murder and have been remanded for seven days, until June 2.
Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohammad Azlin Sadari, in a statement today, said police received a call from an employee at a clinic in Subang on Friday, informing them of the boy’s death.
The doctor in charge at the clinic had stated that the boy was brought in by his parents but was found to be dead.
Azlin also said the couple, aged 33 and 36, were believed to have punched and caned their son, causing his death.
“Initial investigation showed there were bruises on the boy’s face, hands, legs and buttocks.
“His remains have been taken to Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem.
“His parents have been detained for investigations.”
According to him, the father had a prior record for drug possession.
The woman was wanted for theft. She also has a prior criminal record for a house break-in and cheating.
