Lim said he did not want to be part of any “lying games” and hence had refrained from entertaining their allegations which he labelled as “lies”.
He said, however, the most recent statement by Gerakan was ridiculous.
Lim said Gerakan was wrong when stating the Chief Minister Incorporated Enactment 2009 gives the CM absolute powers.
He insisted any decision or execution of matters were made by his state executive council.
Lim said it was clear Gerakan was “bluffing its way out” by using the said law.
“Can you point out to me anywhere in the enactment where it says ‘the CM has the sole right to make decisions’?
“I have not signed a single contract on my own, just witnessed them.
“Gerakan’s becoming bigger and bigger liars. It is a matter of time; they are going to explode.
“It is like the Chinese saying, ‘da zhong lian pi chong pang zi’ (directly translated into beating one’s face swollen to look fat, or puffing oneself up at one’s own cost),” Lim told reporters at Komtar today.
Lim also said Gerakan’s call to declassify the executive council minutes regarding the land sale can be considered but questioned what was in store for him.
“If we declassify, what are you going to do? Are you going to resign or retire from politics? Perhaps make a public apology to me? Maybe donate RM1 million to a charity?
“Then okay lah, we will consider declassifying… but we are sick and tired playing along to their lying games.
“They are lying to cover up another lie. So much so the lies have snowballed bigger and bigger. When they fail to cover their lie, they switch to another matter,” Lim told reporters at Komtar today.
Yesterday, Penang Gerakan Youth chief Jason Loo pointed out that under the Chief Minister Incorporated Enactment 2009, all decisions were to be made by the CM alone.
Loo also wanted Lim to reveal minutes from the executive council to show that it was “not a one man show”.
