TAIPING:
A married couple escaped unhurt when a man fired a shot in the direction of their house in Taman Simpang Murni, Simpang, near here last night.

The gunman escaped on a motorcycle in the 9.50pm incident.

The bullet shattered the glass sliding door before it struck a cupboard in the living room, said Taiping police chief ACP Harith Kam Abdullah.

“The 60-year-old contractor company worker and his wife heard the sound of shattering glass before he saw the gunman riding away when he checked the sliding door,” he said in a statement here today.
