The press conference is to be held on the 39th floor of Menara Dato Onn at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, reported the New Straits Times.
Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is on a working visit to Perlis, will cut short his trip and is expected to be back in time for it.
All Umno supreme council members, menteris besar and chief ministers are also expected to be present for the event.
While Umno officials have refused to comment about the nature of Najib’s announcement, Zahid said today’s press conference was not about seeking a dissolution of Parliament.
He said this in his speech at the Arau Umno division delegates meeting, The Star reported, and urged those spreading fake news to refrain from doing so.
