HKL director Dr Zaininah Mohd Zain said the condition of the three students had stabilised, the News Straits Times reported today.
“The three students allowed to leave will still be required to undergo follow-up treatments,” she told reporters at the hospital’s main lobby today.
Zaininah said four more students were still undergoing treatment, with three currently warded at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for burns, while another was being treated at the paediatric ICU.
“The three boys in the ICU suffered 20 to 30% burns on their bodies and we are treating them,” the NST quoted Zainina as saying.
She said the three burn patients were not allowed visitors due to fear of infection, and that it might take a week for them to recover.
Zaininah said the burn patient at the paediatric ICU was being closely monitored as he was still traumatised by the incident.
