TOKYO:
An AirAsia aircraft made an emergency landing on Monday at Okinawa’s Naha Airport because of engine trouble, China’s Xinhua news agency quoted Japan’s ministry of transport as saying.

None of the 379 passengers and crew members aboard the AirAsia X flight bound for Kuala Lumpur were injured in the emergency landing by the Malaysian budget carrier.

The ministry said the aircraft’s right engine indicated problems at 2.15am local time, forcing the captain to shut down the troubled engine, and declare an emergency landing.

The aircraft touched down at Naha Airport at 3am local time. It had initially departed from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport.
