PUTRAJAYA:
The Malaysian Armed Forces has dismissed as fake a viral social media report that military assets had been deployed in Putrajaya.

Chief of Defence Forces Gen Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor said the news was not true and was mere speculation by certain irresponsible people.

“I am here in Putrajaya right now, and there are no military assets such as tanks and military vehicles here.

“The news on social media is only fake news created to cause anxiety in the people,” he said to Bernama tonight.

Raja Mohamed Affandi advised the people not to easily believe the fake news and to check the authenticity of the news circulated on social media.
