KUALA LUMPUR: Mohamed Apandi Ali, fresh from being terminated as the attorney-general, said he accepted the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong’s decision.
“I accept any decision as the will of Allah. Alhamdulillah (Praise to God),” he told Bernama, when asked on his termination.
Early this morning, Comptroller of the Royal Household Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz said Sultan Muhammad V consented to Apandi’s termination, and agreed to the appointment of Tommy Thomas as the new AG.
Apandi, 68, was told to go on leave, after he refused to resign despite pressure from the government led by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Born in Kelantan, Apandi was appointed as AG on July 27, 2015 replacing Abdul Gani Patail.
