Wearing a specially designed T-shirt with the words “I love Rosmah”, Zunar also brought with him a copy of his work “Ketawa Pink Pink”, a collection of cartoons he said was “inspired by Rosmah”, saying he hoped to present it to her.
Speaking to FMT, he said he was disappointed after being barred from entering the MACC premises because he had no press pass.
When asked why he had taken the trouble to come, he simply said that he had his “own reasons”.
“I came to show my support for her. Unfortunately, it looks like I am alone in this,” he added.
Rosmah has been the subject of intense social media discussion since a police search of her residence turned up nearly 300 boxes of handbags, many of them luxury brands such as Hermes Birkin.
She and her husband Najib Razak are under investigation over some RM42 million associated with SRC International, a company linked to troubled state firm 1MDB.
Zunar, who in an interview last week said he missed Rosmah in her absence from the public limelight following her husband’s shock election defeat last month, said he regarded her as the true leader for reforms.
“It’s Rosmah. Not Anwar or Mahathir,” he said, referring to the top two Pakatan Harapan leaders.
“It is because of her that people opened their eyes. If not for the diamond ring and the Birkins, it would be difficult to convince people about the issue of corruption,” said Zunar.
Asked what he would tell Rosmah if he had a chance to meet her, Zunar said: “I love you.”
