There is a saying: Good managers listen, great managers ask questions.

Do politicians, analysts and Malaysians in general ask the right questions?

If we ask the wrong questions, it is pointless even if we are presented with the right answers. Right answers to wrong questions are as useless as wrong answers to right questions.

Here are some questions although I am not sure if these are the right ones to ask. It is for you to decide whether these questions deserve proper answers. Hopefully through this exercise, we can all become wiser.

1. What/who is the biggest problem in Malaysia TODAY? Remember the emphasis is on TODAY.

2. Who really determines the performance of government institutions in the country – the constitution, the premier, or the institutions concerned?

3. What is more pre-eminent – the premiership, the constitution, government institutions or money?

4. (a) Is Dr Mahathir Mohamad a problem TODAY?
(b) Is Lim Kit Siang a problem TODAY?
(c) Is Anwar Ibrahim a problem TODAY?
(d) If so, what are the problems?

5. Would Mahathir, Anwar and Lim working together pose a problem for the country? If so, what is it? Be specific.

6. Are Muhyiddin Yassin, Shafie Adal, Mukhriz Mahathir and other Umno rebels the cause of the problem you have in mind in question 1? Again, be specific.

7. Is Umno/Barisan Nasional controlling the government today or is it the other way round?

8. How do we prove a person’s guilt or innocence – established due processes, rules based on whims and fancies or rules of the rogues?

9. How is democracy supposed to work – restricted to the general election held once every five years?

I think it is best we get these questions answered before analysts and politicians made us puke further with their hypocritical, half-baked and silly comments.

I’ll give you a hint – all roads lead to Rome.
