“We strongly protest and condemn Salleh’s incredible comments and allegations on Wednesday regarding the assassination of my late father Hussain Najadi in Malaysia on 29 July 2013.”
“It’s the Najadi family’s right, as the survivors, and we will not stop the noble cause to seek justice in Malaysia.”
Salleh obviously ignored the fact that the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) and the police decided not to investigate the motive behind one of the most prominent assassinations in Malaysian history, said Pascal in exercising his right of reply.
He added that he was especially surprised that Salleh claimed that the assassination had nothing to do with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak or 1MDB. “How can he know more than his own government?”
“He seems to know more than we do. We would welcome him sharing material facts that support his, in our opinion, ridiculous and daring statements.”
Pascal disclosed that he was in touch with certain international prosecutors who are investigating 1MDB. “We demand from Malaysia to diligently investigate the assassination of Hussain Najadi with a proper transparent due process.”
He described it a shame on Malaysia and a shame on Salleh that he was making statements, as a sitting Minister, about a subject that does not even fall under his jurisdiction but under Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who has done nothing about the case.
He reiterated his demand for a thorough and transparent investigation by the relevant authorities in Malaysia. “We demand nothing less than a transparent due process to determine the motive behind the assassination of Hussain Najadi.”
