Malaysians stage protest to stop execution of Nagaenthran

A 150-strong crowd gathers outside the Singapore High Commission to protest the execution of a Malaysian on death row.

A 150-strong crowd gathered outside the Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur to protest the execution of Nagaenthran K Dharmalingam in Singapore on Wednesday.

Nagaenthran, 34, who is mentally disabled, was arrested in 2009 for bringing 42.72gm of heroin into the city-state and was handed the death sentence the following year.
