In a strongly worded statement, the DAP supremo called Puad Zarkarshi a “national fraud” and a “simpleton” for making baseless allegations.
Earlier today, Puad called Lim the “most hypocritical politician” for being silent on calls for an RCI into other matters, including on former Bank Negara Malaysia governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz and former minister Nor Mohamed Yakcop’s role in the 1MDB scandal.
But Lim said he had no objection to any RCI into the role of Zeti and Nor Mohamed in the 1MDB scandal.
He also asked whether Puad would agree to an RCI being set up to look into the 1MDB scandal to uncover the attempted cover-up of the wrongdoing, which Lim claimed Puad was part of.
Lim then turned the tables on Puad, questioning whether the former deputy minister was against an RCI to probe revelations made by an aide to former prime minister Najib Razak.
Yesterday, FMT reported Romen Bose as claiming that a plot to arrest Najib in the middle of a Cabinet meeting was foiled a day before it was supposed to be carried out. Bose made the claim in an upcoming book he authored.
“No wonder Umno is in great trouble, with Puad as one of the leaders who is unable to distinguish right from wrong and pretending he does not understand what is corruption and kleptocracy.
“I would not waste any more time on Puad if he is unable to answer the questions raised here,” Lim said.
