In October FMT featured a pint-sized poodle named Daisyy Beth, but little did Daisyy’s parents know the story would reunite the pooch with her half-sister Hazel.
Hazel was born on Dec 25 last year and brought to her forever home a few weeks later. Her human Hoay Ling notes that when they first went to the breeder to choose their puppy, there were two little poodles.
However, when they returned to collect Hazel a few weeks later, they noticed her sister was not there anymore.
“We always wondered what happened to Hazel’s sister and hoped she was taken in by a loving family,” Ling says.

On Oct 8, Ling’s husband Michael came across the FMT article on Daisyy and noticed an uncanny resemblance.
He found Daisyy’s account on Instagram and observed a photo of her wearing a pink-collar tag – the same collar Hazel had been wearing when they got her from the breeder.
Determined to find out if Daisyy was in fact Hazel’s sister, Michael decided to call the breeder, who confirmed the two poodles were half-siblings – born from different mums but sharing the same doggy dad.
Daisyy Beth was born five days after Hazel on Dec 30.
Ling says they then reached out to Daisyy’s humans and, after several weeks of planning, set a date for the sisters to be reunited.

Daisyy’s human Brindha tells FMT she was very excited for Daisyy to be reunited with her sister, and even got her groomed before the playdate.
When introduced, it took some time for the two to soften up to each other.
“Daisyy initially growled at Hazel, so we decided to set them down and let them go to each other themselves,” Brindha recalls.
Thankfully, after sniffing each other, the sisters became friendly and even posed for pictures together.

“We took them to Desa Park City and Daisyy was more interested in the other dogs playing there, while Hazel was more interested in Daisyy’s brother Meeko, who came along for the playdate,” Brindha laughs.
Their humans say Daisyy and Hazel are both very similar in nature. “They are both very inquisitive and can always be found barking at the mailman and dustbin man that pass by their homes,” Brindha adds.
Hazel is a very loving and friendly pup who is ready to befriend all the other dogs in the neighbourhood, no matter their size.
The precious poodle also enjoys a good game of fetch and tug-of-war with her humans.

Just like her sister, Hazel is a rather picky eater who does not enjoy eating the same food every day.
“We have to add different toppings to her air-dried raw meat, otherwise she will get bored and will not eat,” Ling says fondly.
Ling and Brindha are extremely happy to have brought the sisters together after close to a year, and have already made plans for future playdates.
