
HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks started Monday with gains as bargain-buyers moved in following last week’s sharp losses.
The Hang Seng Index edged up 0.52%, or 128.76 points, to 24,846.39.
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.20%, or 5.26 points, to 2,593.59, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, lost 0.60%, or 7.70 points, to 1,282.92.
