
At 3.03pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,693.10, down 2.52 points, from Thursday’s close of 1,695.62.
The index opened 0.85 points better at 1,696.47 today.
Market breadth was negative with losers outpacing gainers 537 to 192, with 292 counters unchanged, 887 untraded and 20 others suspended.
Volume stood at 991.01 million units valued at RM602.90 million.
Of heavyweights, Maybank gained one sen to RM9.40, Hong Leong Bank rose six sen to RM20.64 while Public Bank and TNB were flat at RM24.80 and RM14.78, respectively.
Petronas Chemicals fell one sen to RM9.23 and CIMB eased two sen to RM5.63.
Of actives, Hibiscus Petroleum erased one sen to RM1.02, MYEG decreased four sen to RM1.06 while Sanichi added half-a-sen each to 15.5 sen.
The FBM Emas Index lost 33.62 points to 11,762.54, the FBMT 100 Index declined 27.03 points to 11,612.39, the FBM 70 shed 69.92 points to 13,860.42 and the FBM Ace Index was 75.35 points weaker at 4,957.97.
The FBM Emas Shariah Index decreased 40.84 points to 11,815.92.
Sector-wise, the Finance Index was 6.17 points better at 17,298.63, the Industrial Products and Services Index edged down 0.63 of-a-point to 172.34 and the Plantation Index was 3.19 points easier at 7,173.65.
