Energy sector veteran appointed chairman of TNB

KUALA LUMPUR:
Petronas Gas Bhd director Abdul Razak Abdul Majid has been appointed chairman of Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), the energy company announced today.

Razak will serve for a two-year term from March 27.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, TNB said Razak, 72, has been a member of the action committee for the establishment of the National Energy Centre since 2021.

He is also a member of the independent advisory panel of the Malaysian Petroleum Resources Corporation, a position he was appointed to last year.

Since last year, Razak has also been serving the Energy Commission as chair of two committees, namely supply chain and licensing.
