
Shireen’s career spans over 30 years in the financial services and corporate sector, with a strong track record in emerging Asia equity markets, according to a statement by Media Prima.
A strong advocate of corporate governance best practices and environment, social and governance (ESG) activism, Shireen, 59, has served on several boards of public-listed companies. She helmed Bursa Malaysia from March 2019 to April 2020.
She was the founder, managing director and principal fund manager of Corston-Smith Asset Management, an independent asset management company that was an early signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI), a position she held from 2004 to 2019.
Before that, she was the CEO of AIG Investment Corporation (Malaysia).
Shireen was also a member of the Economic Action Council as well as a board member of the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda).
