In another all-Malaysian men’s doubles second-round clash, world No 1 pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani were pushed to three games before defeating compatriots Nur Azriyn Ayub-Tan Wee Kiong.

The top seeds needed 54 minutes to secure a 21-14, 16-21, 21-14 win — marking their third victory in four meetings with Azriyn-Wee Kiong.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin now face a tough quarter-final test against Indonesia’s world No 8 pair, Sabar Karyaman Gutama-Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

Although the Malaysians have won all three of their past encounters, the Indonesian duo have shown strong form and will pose a serious challenge.
