First introduced to Malaysian car buyers in 1976 by the then distributor, Kah Motor, Honda Accord is the second-longest-running automotive nameplate in Honda’s history, after the Honda Civic.
The Accord is now a household name over nine generations with its various models spanning 44 years.
The new 2020 Accord has a longer wheelbase (+5.5 centimetres), a lower overall height (-1.5 centimetres) and wider body (+1 centimetre), wider wheel tracks (+0.5 centimetre front, +2 centimetres rear), a shortened overall length (-1 centimetre) and a lower, sportier seating position (-2.5 centimetres front, -2 centimetres rear).
A sweeping greenhouse, positioned farther back on the body, completes the new stance and proportion of this next-generation Accord.
The combined effect of these changes is a more premium look, highlighted by shorter overhangs, a bold front fascia, a long and low hood, and a visual centre of gravity moved closer to the rear wheels.

With a turbocharged engine, standard Honda Sensing® and a spacious and high-tech interior, the long awaited 2020 Honda Accord is yours for test-driving at dealer showrooms from end February onwards.
Its selling price has moved upwards concurrent with the rest of the contenders in its segment.
Accord awards
This 10th-generation Honda Accord offers executive sedan buyers a combination of performance, refinement, technology, and value.
These are the very qualities that made it the winner of dozens of awards and accolades since its introduction, including the 2018 North American Car of the Year.
This Accord has been called “America’s Best Sedan” by Car and Driver, and the Accord is the all-time leader in the magazine’s “10 Best” awards with 33 listings on the coveted list.
2020 Accord buyers in Malaysia will get a turbocharged four cylinder engine which is a 1.5-litre, DOHC direct-injected engine with a peak output of 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque backed by a CVT automatic transmission.

Safety and driver assist technology
The list of standard equipment on the 2020 Honda Accord comprises the Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies.
These include Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with pedestrian sensing, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR).
Also standard are automatic high-beam headlights, a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and a driver attention monitor, while driver-assistive features include blind spot information (BSI) and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
Thanks to its next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure and advanced safety systems, the Accord achieves a five star Overall Vehicle Score from the NHTSA in its NCAP safety ratings.
The new Accord is anticipated to receive a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), including the highest available IIHS rating of “Good” in all crashworthiness tests.
Cutting-edge connectivity
The 2020 Honda Accord is sold with a high standard of cabin features like an eight inch display audio touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
