Digi makes impressive strides for mobile network performance

Third-party network sites have released quarterly benchmarking reports indicating Digi's consistent performance in terms of connectivity and speed.

Aside from providing an uninterrupted, seamless and high-quality internet experience for users, another immediate focus for Digi is to migrate their 3G customers to 4G. (Pexels pic)

Since the first Movement Control Order (MCO) last year, there has been a steady increase in Digi users’ monthly network data usage.

In the first quarter of 2020, the amount of mobile data utilised per month was 14.5GB per user. In the second quarter of 2021, it had increased to 21.4GB per user.

With this increase in data usage, Digi strives to meet their customer’s expectations by providing consistent digital connectivity nationwide.

According to independent third-party network sites like Ookla and Tutela, Digi has managed to do just that. In fact, the telco brand has successfully received accolades when it comes to internet connectivity, download speed, download throughput and more.

Fast download speeds

With the work-from-home culture being the new norm, users need fast internet connection when attending online meetings via video conferencing apps such as Google Meet or Zoom.

According to an independent third-party report in April 2021, Digi emerged as the telco with the best Download Speed experience, clocking an average speed of 13.3Mbps.

This is because Digi users have noticed their Internet speeds improved by an impressive 2.8 Mbps (26.1%) since the last quarterly report, which recorded a score of 10.6Mbps.

This data was also supported by Ookla’s Q2 report, which showed that Digi was the fastest mobile operator in the last half of 2020.

This means that Digi users can rest assured that their work productivity level will be at its best.

Not only that, they won’t have to worry about their apps loading slowly when it comes to streaming videos, surfing the internet and browsing social media.

Digi was named Malaysia’s Speedtest Awards Winner for mobile network speed during Q3 and Q4 in 2020.

With such impressive figures, you can trust Digi to offer high-speed internet for all your internet needs.

A consistent operator through and through

Speaking about consistency, it is important for a telco to build trust with their consumers by providing a stable internet connection for their convenience.

Once again, Digi passed Ookla’s test by scoring an impressive 85.9% for the Consistency Score in the first half of 2020. For the next half, the score increased to 88.6%, showing just how much users enjoyed Digi’s internet quality and performance.

At the final half of 2020, Digi’s Consistency Score increased by 2.7%.

Whether it’s for day-to-day consumers who need a stable internet to stay connected, or for small business owners who rely on it for their business operations, a consistent connection is always well appreciated by their users.

Ambitions to boost coverage nationwide

Digi is dedicated to maintaining their connectivity speeds and consistency across the country, and the accolades mentioned above are a testament to this commitment.

While deploying new infrastructure will take time, it will not dampen Digi’s efforts to take progressive measures to continuously expand the coverage of their network.

They have worked on developing new sites as well as upgrading and modernising existing sites by using the latest technology to boost capacity and improve both outdoor and indoor coverage.

All in all, Digi will continue to outdo themselves as they aim to modernise and improve their services in terms of quality, consistency, and efficiency.
