The Lumi News app, Malaysia’s leading news aggregator app, recently introduced a series of exclusive News Stacks in conjunction with the upcoming state elections.
In partnership with 10 current and former Malaysian ministers, the app will give participating politicians a platform to develop materials and express their views on selected issues.
It aims to connect political figures with Malaysians on crucial national topics, from sports and youth issues to climate change.
The latest app version also will also have exciting new features, including live election results for all six states, official ceramah broadcasts and even live chats.

Lumi News CEO Judith Yeoh said she hoped these new features will help users to expand their perspectives and build connections.
“We’ve always believed in giving people more access to information. We’re excited to launch our exclusive News Stacks and Chat feature together because this combination offers an extraordinary opportunity to foster dialogue, make people think, and, hopefully, bring us all a little closer together,” said Yeoh.
Lumi News growth marketing manager Fildzah Zulkifli said that it was an honour to collaborate with the country’s leaders, both past and present, to inspire users who look to the app for reliable news sources.
A closer look at new app features
Lumi News introduced the News Stack feature last year, compiling must-read articles and videos from local and international media on trending topics.
With the recent update, Lumi News officially kicks off its 2023 State Elections campaign. The team behind the news app has designed an aesthetic, user-friendly state elections page for Malaysians of all ages to access everything they need to know – right at their fingertips.
During the previous general elections, Lumi News attracted over a million users to its GE15 results page during the polling weekend.
Now, Lumi News users can create personalised profiles and engage in real-time conversations with fellow Malaysians, discussing current topics together.
To start chatting, users can simply create a profile on the app, customise their username and choose a preferred Lumi character as their profile photo.
