OpenAI has announced that its latest model, GPT-4.1, will be available directly in ChatGPT from this Thursday, May 15, for its paying subscribers (Plus, Pro and Team).
This is a specialised model for coding tasks, designed to be faster and more powerful than previous dedicated models.
GPT-4.1 is a significant evolution on previous models, able to process up to a million tokens of context.
This enhancement enables more in-depth analysis of large documents and better management of complex tasks. All in all, GPT-4.1 is both faster and more economical than its predecessors.
While it can summarize long documents or extract relevant information from them, it is primarily aimed at developers or organizations wishing to integrate artificial intelligence into their operations.
According to OpenAI, GPT-4.1 excels in code analysis, error detection and unit test generation.
Other ChatGPT account holders will have access to GPT-4.1 mini, a scaled-down version of GPT-4.1 that’s slightly less powerful for more complex tasks.
