PETALING JAYA: Abdul Rahman Bakar, who is known as the “Giant Killer” for defeating PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang twice in the contest for the Marang parliamentary seat, attributed his wins to his oratory skills.
Having won an inter-university debate competition in 1983, Rahman – who won the Marang seat for BN in 1986 and 2004 – told Bernama that his ceramahs in villages or polling district centres were popular among the locals.
