MAHB managing director, Badlisham Ghazali said the company had adopted both ‘visible’ and ‘invisible’ measures.
“We have close rapport with the police,” he told Bernama.
Badlisham said MAHB had appointed a general manager for aviation security who started work with the company four months ago.
He named the individual as SAC Rosli Mohd Isa who was seconded from the police.
“Security at airports is a priority for MAHB. Security personnel will be more visible for passengers, especially at the international gateways.
“It is needless for passengers to be unduly concerned about this. We have established collaboration among the airports, police and intelligence authorities.
“Insyaallah (God willing), we will handle it (security),” said Badlisham when asked to comment on the additional security measures implemented following the recent militant attacks in several cities in other countries.
The latest and closest incident to Malaysia was an attack on a mall in the heart of Jakarta on January 14.
