Taking to Facebook, Muhyiddin said he was due to give a speech at SMK USJ4 in Subang Jaya, upon invitation by the Community Sports Club yesterday evening, when he was told he was not allowed to speak.
“Unfortunately, I was told the school had received orders from certain parties to direct the organiser to not let me speak.
“Never mind, I’ve been expecting this would happen,” he posted.
“Although I did not get a chance to speak, I managed to mingle with members of the public.”
Muhyiddin was dropped as deputy prime minister and education minister in a cabinet reshuffle last July following his criticisms against Prime Minister Najib Razak over the latter’s alleged financial scandals.
Although he remains Umno deputy president, he has been side-lined from party matters, including being barred from addressing party members at the Umno general assembly in December last year.
