Youths charged with insulting modesty of two teens

A 34-second video on Facebook shows two students in uniforms being forced by the youths to lick the road and bark like dogs.

Two youths were charged at the Magistrate’s Court today for insulting the modesty of two Form Three students, an act which went viral on Facebook.

School leaver Tan Jze Keong, 18 and college student Lim Khoo Boo Kean, 19 faced a charge under section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of two teenage boys by ordering them to bend over and lick the road.

They were said to have committed the act in SMK Taman Sea here in the wee hours of January 29.

They face a jail term up to five years, a fine or both if found guilty.

Both teenagers pleaded not guilty.

Tan and Lim also face another charge under section 323 with four other 17 year-olds for voluntarily causing hurt to the two boys.

They and three others pleaded not guilty, while one teenager pleaded guilty.

Magistrate Fadzlin Suraya Mohd Suah then set bail for Tan and Lim at RM1,000 with one surety each while the other four boys’ bail were fixed at RM500 with a surety.

She set March 10 as the next mention date for the six accused, pending a report from the Social Welfare Department on the four boys.
