“I think if I’m the Opposition, there’s nothing else I can do except talk about 1MDB,” she told reporters after officiating the “Sarawak Green Tour”.
The minister in the Prime Minister’s Department then pointed out that issues pertaining to the state investment arm would have to be resolved by 1MDB itself.
Azalina said the Public Accounts Committee, which also comprised Opposition lawmakers, had already cleared Prime Minister Najib Razak of any wrongdoing in the controversy surrounding 1MDB.
“Hence, I doubt that the issue will resonate with voters in Sarawak.”
The Pengerang lawmaker also said Sarawakians had a lot of things to look ahead to, including Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem’s administration.
On a separate matter, Azalina said she believed that Annuar Rapaee who was her senior in university had a reason to boot out a Malaysiakini reporter from his ceramah.
“I don’t think he’s an unreasonable man.”
Yesterday, Malaysiakini reported that the Nangka candidate scolded the portal’s reporter after she had introduced herself.
According to Malaysiakini, Annuar is believed to be unhappy with the journalist for highlighting complaints from residents in Kampung Dato Lama.
