PETALING JAYA: The Selangor state government under the administration of PKR’s Azmin Ali has only seen heightened political conflicts instead of public-centred policies and programmes.

Former Selangor menteri besar Khalid Ibrahim speaking to The Star Online yesterday expressed concern over this situation, following claims that money and women were sought in negotiations with the state government.

“We have been forced to become spectators of heightened political conflicts, rampant allegations of corrupt practices, abuse of power and misappropriation of public funds,” Khalid was quoted by the English portal as saying.

The allegations of graft came to public attention after a WhatsApp conversation of PKR Vice-President and Secretary-General Rafizi Ramli claiming to have received complaints on the said incident were leaked.

Rafizi then presented evidence to PKR President Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail after which he was given “full blessings” to take it to the MACC, which he did earlier this week.

Azmin, however, dismissed the allegations, claiming it was merely part of a smear campaign against the state government.
