PETALING JAYA:
Chairman of CIMB Group Nazir Razak showed he was not such a “serious guy” after all as he gamely indulged in a game of trivia as part of a promo with comedian Harith Iskandar for talk show “Obviously Harith” on Saturday.

In the clip, Harith is seen picking up Nazir just as he did with AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes last week.

“I saw you doing this for Tony, so I thought, you know, save me a bit of money,” Nazir says.

Asked if he was a cheapskate just like Fernandes, Nazir replies, “No… we’re just clever with money.”

Harith thanks him for agreeing to be a guest on his talk show and recaps how sporting Fernandes was when he came on, dancing on stage with girls and doing push-ups with Harith, to which Nazir replies: “Oh no no no! Hang on a minute… I’m a banker. I have an image to protect. So please, it’s going to be a very serious show.”

Nazir pokes fun at Fernandes and says, “I’m just a serious guy. I’m not going to do push-ups, you know, not going to be dancing. Tony is a narcissist, in fact, he’s almost insane.”

“You’re a serious guy, I recognise that,” a somewhat worried-looking Harith says to Nazir.

The pair proceed to talk about songs of the 80s, which both are fans of, and end-up playing a game of trivia.

While Nazir correctly identifies “True” by Spandau Ballet, even so much as singing along to it; “Get down on it” by Kool & the Gang; and “Rock with You” by Michael Jackson, Harith recognises “Boogie Wonderland” by Earth, Wind and Fire and “Night Fever” by Bee Gees although they argue it was a song of the seventies, but played throughout the eighties.

“Do you know the lyrics?” Harith asks Nazir, to which he replies: “Do I know the lyrics? I know the steps!” Both dance along in their seats until the hardest tune of all to identify comes on.

Both listen with plastered smiles on their faces as neither can correctly identify it.

Harith finally says, “I don’t know this one. Who’s this?” to which Nazir burst out laughing, clapping his hands and saying, “I have no idea!”

After a hearty laugh, Nazir admits, “If I only put on songs I know, chances are you will know it. I said, ‘You guess the song’… doesn’t mean I know the song.”

Nazir later spills the beans, telling Harith he requested for “Shadow Dancing” by Andy Gibb but someone had put a completely different “Shadow Dancing” that neither knew thereby making both lose their guessing game.
