Love triangle machete attack: Cops close in on 2 teens

Initial investigations reveal the attack was motivated by jealousy over the victim's relationship with a woman, who was also a lover to one of the suspects.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Police are closing in on two teenagers to investigate a machete attack here last Friday, fuelled by what police believe to be a love triangle.

In the incident, three people were alleged to have slashed a 21-year-old man at 4.50pm while he was having a nap in the living room of a house in Intan Baiduri here.

The man sustained slash wounds in the head and hands and was warded at the Selayang Hospital.

“Initial investigations revealed the attack was motivated by jealousy over the victim’s relationship with a woman, who was also a lover to one of the suspects sought by the police,” Sentul police chief ACP R. Munusamy told Bernama here today.

He said the victim’s condition was described as stable.

Meanwhile, police have sought the help of K Shan Praveen, 19, and S K Danesh Kumar, 18, to facilitate investigations into the attack.

Those knowing their whereabouts are requested to contact the Sentul police headquarters or the nearest police station.
