The Malaysian production, called the Chini Saga, will revolve around the legend of the dragon from Chini Lake, Pahang, according to producer Mohd Rafeezi Mohd Zin.

This news is sure to excite fans of both Rajinikanth and Jackie Chan, who are said to be Asia’s highest paid actors. The female lead is said to be Bollywood’s Sonam Kapoor.

However, there has been no confirmation from the actors’ camps or other sources.

Malaysian fans are eagerly awaiting the release next month of the film Kabali starring Rajinikanth . The film has also been dubbed in Malay – the first time ever that a Tamil film will be screened in Malay.

Sinar Harian first reported on the possibility of the two mega stars coming together.

Rafeezi was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying that he was not just making this up.

He said the three actors had already been contacted.

Cinema Online reported that according to Rafeezi, apart from international stars the film would also involve Malaysian actors.

The Chini Saga was announced four years ago, but it was delayed due to insufficient funds, as it needed RM20 million to move forward.

Rafeezi said he had managed to raise the funds and that the filming would commence in stages beginning from July.

The report said The Chini Saga would feature 90 per cent of CGI effects and that it would also be 90 per cent in English

The filming locations are Norway, India, China, Indonesia and Thailand.

The producer said the large budget needed for the film was not an issue as he was confident it would do well as he planned to screen it in various countries, including European nations.
