PETALING JAYA: Former Malaysian attache to New Zealand Muhammed Rizalman Ismail has been deported back to the country after completing his nine-month home detention for indecently assaulting a New Zealander.

According to the New Zealand Herald’s online edition, nzherald.co.nz, the 39-year-old was escorted from Wellington to Kuala Lumpur by two New Zealand police officers last night.

“A spokesman for Justice Minister Amy Adams said Adams issued a removal order to send Rizalman back to Malaysia under the Extradition Act,” the portal reported.

Rizalman had last year pleaded guilty to indecent assault on Tania Billingsley in her Wellington home on May 9, 2014.

It was previously reported that Rizalman had first spotted Billingsley at a supermarket and that from her body language, thought she approved of him and wanted to be friends.

He then followed her home and waited outside her home for around 40 minutes before deciding to go inside with his pants and underwear down.

In court, he explained that while waiting on the patio outside her front door, he had an “emergency defecation” situation and soiled his clothes.

Rizalman was later sentenced to nine months’ home detention on Feb 4 this year.

His case sparked a public outcry when he fled New Zealand after being charged. Rizalman was subsequently extradited to New Zealand on Oct 24, 2014.
