An audience with the head of the Roman Catholic Church is definitely one of the highlights for most people, let alone those who are members of the faith, and it is no different for the AirAsia boss.
“Never been to the Vatican. Met many people in my life but this will be a highlight. His open mind is something many leaders could learn from,” Fernandes wrote in a Facebook posting today.
Highlighting his middle name, Francis, in his post, the 52-year-old Fernandes joked about swapping caps with the hugely-popular pontiff, and asked for suggestions on “what should I say to him or ask him?”.
The FB post did not indicate any reason for the meeting with Pope Francis, or if there were other Malaysians in his delegation.
