SHAH ALAM: Tuesday Dec 13 will be a public holiday in Selangor due to the 71st birthday of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah falling on Dec 11, a Sunday.
However, Monday Dec 12 is a federal public holiday in view of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
“Usually, a public holiday that falls on Sunday will have the following Monday declared a public holiday, but since Monday Dec 12 is also a public holiday, the Sunday public holiday is carried forward to Tuesday Dec 13,” Selangor State Secretary Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya said today when contacted by Bernama.
He said the matter was explained in Circular 10/2015 on public holidays in Selangor in 2016 issued at the end of last year.
