An auditor with the audacity to video record a woman’s buttocks at a shopping complex here last night, got more than he bargained for when he raised the ire of the public who gave him a sound thrashing.

In the incident about 9.40pm, a girlfriend of the woman, in her 20s, caught the man red-handed using a cellphone camera and told him off.

At that juncture, the man fled, only to be caught by shoppers and beaten up, resulting in him sustaining face and head injuries.

The 27-year-old suspect was then handed over to police to facilitate investigations. He was later taken to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here for treatment.

Johor Bahru Selatan police chief ACP Sulaiman Salleh lauded members of the public for their cooperation in detaining the auditor but advised them against resorting to violence when detaining a suspect.
