KUALA LUMPUR: Fauzi Ayob has been appointed as the new director-general of National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas), effective Jan 1. The appointment was on a one-year contract.
Fauzi, who was deputy director-general (Management) of Finas, replaced Kamil Othman, whose contract as director-general ended in November.
Also appointed was Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib as deputy director-general effective from Jan 1. He was senior director of Finas’ Commercial Division.
Both of them were appointed by Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak, Finas said in a statement yesterday.
The appointments were announced by Finas chairman Mohd Khusairi Abdul Talib at the presentation of cheques for feature film incentives at P Ramlee Mini Cinema, Finas, Hulu Kelang.
