Its officer, Hussein Muin, said the consignment was seized after the department was notified by auxiliary policemen at 4.05pm that a scan of a polystyrene box revealed these contents.
The meat of the deer weighed 4.6kg and that of the barking deer, 2.3kg, and there was 1.6kg of internal organs, he said at a press conference today.
Hussein said the sender of the consignment had been identified as a clerk of a school in the district and the person would be summoned to give a statement over the illegal export of wildlife meat.
He said it was an offence to remove venison and deer parts out of the state without a permit and offenders could be fined between RM30,000 and RM50,000 or imprisoned for up to three years, or both.
