Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) director-general Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, in a statement, said the DCA contacted the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) to obtain detailed information following a report that the splinters found by Seychelles authorities were believed to belong to Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
“The SCAA has shared the information and photographs of the splinters and the DCA thanks its colleagues in the SCAA who had given their cooperation,” he said.
In a statement earlier, the SCAA said scientists carrying out research on birds and turtles found two splinters in Farqhar believed to belong to Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that had crashed.
The plane had disappeared from the radar screen while on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014, together with 239 passengers and crew members on board.
