Snatch thieves caught — on Facebook Live

Snatch-thievesPETALING JAYA: A few weeks ago two men were in the spotlight after they used Facebook Live to broadcast live a new Malay movie playing in a cineplex to 200,000 viewers.

This time, a man using the FB live application in Setapak had a shock when two men grabbed his handphone.

As a result, their faces were clearly captured on the video being broadcast to his friends and relatives.

Now the video, posted on Facebook, has gone viral and police are looking for the suspects.

Both Star Online and NST Online reported the incident happened yesterday when a man was filming a video in conjunction with Hari Raya Haji celebrations.

He was recording the festive atmosphere while walking to Masjid Idaman for Aidiladha prayers.

In the video, the men on a motorcycle suddenly grab the phone while he is in the middle of his recording.

There was a brief struggle but they got away with the handphone while it was still shooting the video.

Wangsa Maju district police chief Supt Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said although no report had been lodged, police were tracking down the snatch thieves recorded in the video.
