Adly said so far, RM84,000 collected as deposits from traders had been returned by the Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council.
“We hope the traders, who will now pay lower rental, will also reduce their prices,” he told FMT.
He said traders who had been awarded trading space but had yet to pay the deposit would now be charged the new lower rates.
Adly, 47, took over as chief minister from Idris Haron of Barisan Nasional after Pakatan Harapan won the state in the May 9 election. He was sworn in on May 11.
Adly said among the priorities of his government would be to look into the plight of the 28,000 people in the state identified as hard-core poor, who needed assistance such as zakat and education.
He said he would study the report on this group and ensure they would not be left behind.
