MACC seen carrying boxes out of Najib’s house

Officers of the anti-graft agency leave after more than two hours at the private home of the former prime minister.

KUALA LUMPUR: Several Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers were seen leaving former prime minister Najib Razak’s private residence in Taman Duta before 6pm today.

The officers, who arrived in two unmarked cars, were also seen carrying plastic boxes from Najib’s house. It is not known what were in the boxes.

They had arrived at Najib’s house at around 3.30pm.

Najib has been the subject of investigations by the commercial crime and anti money-laundering units of the federal police over allegations of money-laundering involving 1MDB.

Yesterday, police removed 72 suitcases containing cash, jewellery and other items, and close to 300 boxes containing luxury handbags in checks on three apartments in the upmarket Pavilion Residences building in Bukit Bintang.
