Muhyiddin finally sworn in as MP

The PPBM president was recovering from surgery at a Singapore hospital.

KUALA LUMPUR:
PPBM president Muhyiddin Yassin today took his oath as Pagoh MP in the Dewan Rakyat, following a long medical leave.

Muhyiddin, who has been named the home minister, was sworn-in before Dewan Rakyat Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof.

He had been advised by his doctors to undergo chemotherapy treatment for six months, following a surgery to remove a growth in his pancreas.

His aide said Muhyiddin’s official work scope was limited throughout his treatment period so that he could focus on the recovery.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been the acting home minister during Muhyiddin’s absence.
