She was presented with about 20 bouquets after she concluded her final speech as party number one.

In her winding up speech, Wan Azizah reiterated her call yesterday for the new party leadership to take care of the party as she was leaving it in a good condition.

“Please take good care of the party, love the party and its leaders.

“If there’s anything not right, please come and tell me. I know the new president. I’m very close to him,” she quipped.

Wan Azizah’s husband, Anwar Ibrahim, is the new party president.

She told PKR members to always remember those who fought for the party during the hard times to this day, pointing out that its members would no longer be mistreated and oppressed by the authorities.

She said PKR was now the authority, the government and the one responsible for driving the nation.
