In a tweet, she said Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim had “passed through the danger zone”.
“If yesterday his chances of survival were 40%, now it is 70%,” she said, adding that doctors had moved on to the next phase of treatment.
Adib, 24, was critically injured in the assault early Tuesday morning.
He was part of the team of firefighters who rushed to USJ 25 following a protest over the relocation of the Sri Maha Mariamman temple which saw rioters setting vehicles on fire.
He was dragged out of the Emergency Medical Rescue Services vehicle and assaulted.
He was initially taken to Subang Jaya Medical Centre but later transferred to the National Heart Institute.
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) meanwhile slammed those who had attacked Adib, calling the assault “disgraceful”.
Adding that the fireman’s actions were meant to protect others from danger, it said it was unacceptable that he had been attacked.
“The MCCBCHST calls upon all Malaysians to keep Adib in our good thoughts and prayers.”
