Heavy police presence at Seafield Temple, One City after Adib’s death

The fireman was responding to a fire near the temple on Nov 27 when he was set upon by a group of men.

Police were back to guarding the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple and One City Development business complex in USJ25 here hours after the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, the firefighter who passed away due to injuries after a temple fracas.

Subang Jaya police told FMT police had increased their presence to keep everything under control.

“Nothing is happening at the moment but we are guarding the place,” he told FMT.

More than 150 police personnel are on duty at both places. They include plainclothes policemen and Federal Reserve Unit troops.

Adib’s body was flown to his hometown in Kedah today, with about 1,000 people attending the funeral.

Adib suffered serious injuries on Nov 27 while he was part of a team responding to a fire in front of the temple. It is alleged that rioters pulled him out of his vehicle and attacked him.
