KUALA LUMPUR:
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today carted off six boxes filled with documents from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) as part of a probe into allegations of a RM500 million project scandal.

Two MACC officers left the CCM headquarters along Jalan Stesen Sentral 5 at 5.10pm. They had arrived about 11am today.

A MACC source, when contacted, confirmed the seizure of documents.

It was previously reported that MACC was investigating the child of a senior officer at the commission, who is believed to be involved in the project.

The involvement of the suspect, in the 20s, was exposed after a raid was carried out by the MACC at three companies and the CCM headquarters on Jan 14.

Before that, on Jan 9, MACC had confiscated 69 boxes filled with agreements, believed to be over allegations of the scandal, from the CCM headquarters.

All the documents were seized to assist investigations into allegations of power abuse and contract leakages, including claims of direct negotiations, which allegedly resulted in losses on the government’s part, and the public being lied to.
