KUALA LUMPUR:
Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has welcomed an apology by a PKR senator who called for laws to protect men from being seduced.

She said Imran Abd Hamid should have been more sensitive to the party’s stand on violence against women.

“Political leaders, both elected and appointed representatives, must play a role in ensuring that women and also men are constantly protected from sexual violence,” she said.

Wan Azizah, who is also the Women, Family and Community Development Minister, said “gender sensitisation” sessions should be conducted for elected and appointed representatives.

“Women should be protected from crimes. How can the blame be now placed upon women for causing crimes against them?”
